How to solder safely

Objectives:

Sketch out and annotate the soldering process

Identify dangers and safety precautions when soldering (SOP)

Solder a component to a board and assess practical skill

 

Outcomes:

Have recorded the process of soldering in a series of sketches and notes

Have correctly identified and communicated safety procedure in a SOP

Assessed one or more soldered join

Instructions:

Review the presentation below picking out the key points and sketching these in order

Write down any important notes about process and safety

In pairs develop a 8 or 10 step Standard Operating Procedure for the soldering process
