Task 1 - With a friend review the images below that are relevent to your chosen GCSE design brief, discuss the common features, most effective designs and identify any trends and materials used.

It is important that you spend some time researching existing product before plaiing to make your own.

Research serves many purposes these are:

 

  • Identifying emerging products
  • Gaining insperation
  • Ensureing you don't copy a product idea without knowing
  • Identify common features
  • Identify effective designs
  • Familiarise yourself with trends
  • Pricing
  • Deciding on possible materials

Task 2 - Compile a list of all the points you discovered from task 1 e.g: Strengths, common features, design features, use of color, trends in design. 4 points

Task 3 - Gather 8 - 12 images of existing products that match or are close to your design brief and arrange on an A3 power point page. 6 points
