Summary of Research

Objectives:

Recognise the strengths and weaknesses of analysed products

Skillfully define relevent points to devide your research into e.g. Aesthetics, Use of color etc

Enter data accurately into a diagram format to produce visual research findings

 

Outcomes:

Strengths and weaknesses of products comapired

Key terms, headings for research identified 

Star diagram filled out accurately to produce a visual rerpresentation of research

Task 1: Look back over your analysis of existing products so far, discuss with a friend what you like and dislike about the designs you have been researching.

Task 2: Decide on the most important 5 points from your analysis e.g. Aesthetics, use of color etc and then download and enter these into the heading fields on the star diagram below.

Task 3: For each heading give each researched item a mark out of 5, 5 being high 0 being low. This will build up a pattern of lines. Save the document.

Task 4: For each heading discuss the best and worst products e.g. you may take your most and least original piece and discuss why this is so. An example of the completed page is shown below.

Task 5 - Compose a 100 - 300 word statement that sets out your design intent and findings from your initial investigation. 12 points
